This post is sponsored by FAGE, but like always all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Last year my husband and I went out for valentine’s day and after a fancy dinner and babysitter we had spent over $200. Though I felt full and it was fun to dress up, I really didn’t see the value in spending so much money on that one evening out.
So this year I am sharing some of my favorite, inexpensive but thoughtful Valentine day gifts for him or her.
1. Breakfast in bed
One of my favorite presents to receive is breakfast in bed. It’s one hour of eating and watching the news alone while my husband manages the kids downstairs. It’s such a thoughtful and inexpensive gift and it is even better when my husband makes my favorite breakfast, a FAGETotal 2% Greek plain yogurt bowl with nuts, fresh fruit and a cup of my favorite morning tea. I love how rich and creamy FAGE 2% yogurtis and that it is full of protein, GMO free and has no added sugar. And my husband loves how easy whipping it up with the kids is.
2. Love note.
I honestly don’t think there is anything much sweeter than taking the time to write a love letter to your significant other. I always begin my love letter with a story of us followed by a list of reasons I love him and end it with how thankful I am for our partnership. I typically email them to him so he can read whenever he wants.
3. Movie night
Watching an entire movie that isn’t made by Disney is a big deal for my husband and me. So renting a new movie and eating snacks is a special treat for us. I typically make popcorn and sometimes we eat ice cream or a healthy alternative such as a FAGE 2%plain Greek yogurt PB&J bowl. We typically add a scoop of peanut butter and fresh berries to our cup to make a decadent but healthy dessert, rent a romantic comedy, and cuddle up for the evening.
4. Indoor picnic
Sometimes turning the tv on after the kids are in bed is just another night at home. So instead of a movie try an indoor picnic. Lay out a blanket, all your favorite foods and just talk. Sometimes the best gift to give each other is time together not filled with the distractions of tv’s and phones.
Hope these ideas help you have a sweet and budget friendly Valentine’s day.
