How to Beat PostPartum Skin with Drug Store Products.

Something happened to my skin. I call it "Kids." I use to have worry free flawless skin. A breakout was an occasional single pimple that occurred a couple times out of the year. I never washed my face with anything more then water and rarely used night creams or lotion. And then I had my son and my hormones shifted. My skin became dry and along my jawline I formed acne. It was terrible! I went to my dermatologist and spent a lot of money on creams and at one point used a steroid like cortisone. Nothing worked!

Then I decided to try a drug store regimen. I went to my local Walmart and purchased everything and to my surprise my skin is no longer dry and the acne along my jawline is beginning to fade.

1. Get your skin ready for the day.

First thing is first. You have to prep your skin for the day and the first think I like to use is Noxzema® Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream. It's great for cleaning your skin but not over drying it. And if you are like me, you definitely cannot have anything that will dry out your postpartum skin any worse! Noxzema® has been around for so long because it is tested and trusted by Dermatologist to leave your skin looking healthy and feeling soft.

2. Moisturize

Next I moisturize my skin. My favorite product that I have used forever and is found at any drug store is POND'S® Dry Skin cream. POND'S® has a great formula that is absorbed by skin to hydrate it deeply while significantly reducing dryness. It has been around for 150 years and it's because it's such a great product. It is dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic and won't clog pores. Seriously could not live without it!

3. Wipe away the nasty.

At the end of the day I no longer use the liquid makeup removers that I swear were clogging my pores. Postpartum left my skin feeling sensitive and I can't end the day adding anything to my face that would irritate it. That's why I made a switch and now use Simple® Cleansing Facial Wipes. There are no dyes, artificial perfumes or harsh irritants and actually have vitamins to help nourish the skin. It's easy on the skin but still gets the job done when I need to take off my waterproof mascara.

4. Make sure to exfoliate.

I few times a week I like to give my skin just a little more extra tlc and exfoliate it. My favorite drug store product that I have found is St. Ive's® Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub. It deeply exfoliates the skin while being gentle on it. Not only does it leave my skin looking vibrant but it smells good too.

Try this regimen out and let me know what you think.

Did it work to revitalize your "before kids" skin?
